Our story
Good food, made with love
City Roots VT is a Stowe-based business made up of the husband-wife team, Ryan Aldrich and Emily Sloane. They met while living and working in New York City in 2008 and relocated to Vermont to raise their kids in 2021.
Ryan is from central VT, trained at the New England Culinary Institute, and cooked in multiple Michelin-starred kitchens in New York for over 17 years. Emily works as a Hand Therapist at UVM Medical Center and is responsible for most of the business communications, organization, and social media.
Our goal is to help keep weeknight dinner easy, simple, and delicious. We try to source local ingredients when possible and choose crowd-pleasing recipes. Our prepared foods side of the business was born out of helping people put on a special meal for a celebration or party.
